How to test the layout before spending money

Use painter’s tape, cardboard footprints or temporary rolling carts to represent benches and machines. Then walk the actual sequence: bring material in, place it on a landing surface, make the cut or repair, move to assembly, clean up and put tools away. Open every drawer and cabinet door.
